Circumvention & Fraud Policy
Circumvention & fraud policy
Qredits is a microfinancier and provides business loans exclusively to entrepreneurs. At Qredits, we operate on trust. Unfortunately, a small group of people abuse that trust by committing fraud. At Qredits, we find fraud unacceptable. Qredits therefore acts strictly against fraud.
What is fraud?
We define fraud as 'deliberately disadvantaging Qredits so that you or someone else benefits financially’. Examples include:
- Providing false information.
- Concealing important information.
- Providing incorrect or incomplete information. Misrepresenting matters and submitting documents that are not correct by making adjustments to, for example, an income statement, payslip, or bank statement.
What does Qredits do to prevent fraud?
Qredits does everything possible to prevent and detect fraud.
Some of our activities include:
- When assessing a loan application, we always first check who we are dealing with.
- We ask the customer questions to determine if a loan application is justified.
- We carry out checks (such as BKR, EVA, and sanctions checks).
- We train our staff on fraud awareness.
What does Qredits do in case of (suspected) fraud?
Qredits carefully records all suspicions. If we think that an application is not right or the information provided is incorrect, we will conduct an investigation. If it turns out that there is fraud, we apply a zero-tolerance policy. This means that any deliberate violation can lead to measures. Consider the following:
- Rejecting a loan application.
- Immediately making a previously disbursed loan fully repayable.
- Reporting the fraud in the EVA register. This warns other financing companies and banks, making it harder to open an account or obtain a financial product elsewhere.
- If a criminal offense is involved, we will generally always report it to the police.
- Reporting an unusual transaction to the FIU.
Threats and inappropriate behavior towards employees
We naturally condemn all forms of violence and aggression against our employees.
If there is verbal or non-verbal aggression (swearing, shouting, humiliating, inappropriate behavior, teasing, or bullying), our employee will indicate that he/she does not tolerate it and reports it to his/her supervisor.
In the case of severe transgressive behavior, we will file a police report if necessary. This applies to:
- Personal threats (threats of death or comments like 'I know where to find you/I'll wait for you', stalking, blackmailing, putting under pressure, or sending a threatening message).
- Physical aggression (throwing an object, hitting, kicking, or grabbing).
The loan application will be rejected, and we will of course report this internally and document it in writing.
In case of repeated verbal and/or non-verbal aggression or violence, Qredits has the right to terminate the credit agreement. This means that any outstanding amounts must be paid, and Qredits may impose a penalty for the interest it misses out on due to the early termination of the agreement.
